Reading an article costs nothing. A credit is taken only when the drafts are generated, and credits do not expire.
Stripe handles the money, we handle the credits.
Buying credits or a subscription opens a Stripe checkout page on this site. The exact price is the one Stripe shows at that moment, set by the operator of the deployment. When Stripe confirms a payment or an invoice, the credits are added to your balance automatically — you do not have to wait or ask.
You can buy credit packs more than once in the same period: each click opens its own checkout, so a second purchase is not swallowed by the first. Subscriptions are managed in your workspace under Account & subscription, where you can update payment details, cancel, or let a plan lapse at the end of the period.
Payments need an HTTPS deployment. On a local or plain-HTTP setup the billing buttons are disabled, and everything else still works.
